{2016} Review of Glow Pratunam & Airport- City Rail

hello lovelies,

My goodness me, it has almost been a year since my last post.I been wanting to update this since some time ago but i kept putting it off so here it is.
I visited Bangkok with my mum during August this year for a short getaway after my internship ended.
Got Thai Airlines tickets for $317 all fares included. Flight was pretty ok.

Noodles with chicken that was really good

Prawn cos fish was out of stock. On the whole Thai Airways was a good airlines to fly with but the only thing is that their planes are really parked at the end boarding gates at both Changi/suvarnabhumi. Had to walk a long way to the arrivals as compared to SQ.

For the month of August they had this so me and mum cut the queue! Great~~

To Airport City Rail Link

Pretty simple to get to the City Rail

Took to Phaya Thai at 45 baht.

At Phaya Thai, had to change trains and walk a bit to the BTS, one thing about their train stations, the stairs are really long and the lifts are nowhere in sight, unless you have strength to lug all your luggage, it really sucks

Took till Phaya Thai and switched lines to BTS arrive at Ratchathewi station. Basically, its just a horror with the stairs but otherwise, fairly simple.
From the station, its a 15minute walk. we asked a local girl that was really friendly and she used google maps to point out the way. from the stairway of the BTS station, just walk straight and turn right. see Shibuya 19 from faraway. Probably use Google Maps for this. I had to cross the street with my huge luggage so i just went into the mall and used the escalator instead of lugging the bag down the stairs again
Lounge, the check in was swift and fast, Just presented the booking voucher from Agoda.

One for one pax. Limited to one device also hence if you have alot of devices, alot of passwords. But the connection was good and was able to load youtube videos
Booked the cheapest room we could get at 97/night without breakfast

excuse the bag haha, the room was well furnished and clean:)we reached the hotel at like 4pm and was tired and hot so the air conditioning was a welcome.

15th floor view of outside, directly outside platinum mall

As Glow is on the 7th floor of Shibuya19, there's macdonalds right downstairs on level1. Porters are on level1 lifts waiting to take your luggage~ Their concierge are friendly but i feel Berkeley's concierge are of top standards. Seriously, their concierge know everything you wanna know and the best stuff in town.
Overall, i feel that the price i paid for Glow was well justified for considering you can find breakfast easily in the morning( noodle soup near the morning market, sabx2 wanton noodles, macdonalds porridge, road side stalls etc!
However, their room service is super slow! On day2 we came back at 5pm and the beds were not done! it happened the next day too so i guess its a manpower issue? I would advise you when heading out to inform the reception to make the beds on your way out of the hotel in the morning.
OKay thats all for my post today, if you are interested in reading more BKK posts, here are the links and more about my trip would be up next.
