{2017}Trip to Bangkok Yaowarat by Ferry / Food Review!

Hi lovelies,

Im back with a new post about Bangkok Thailand!
I always wanted to check out Yaowarat Bangkok but haven't been able to do so cos I always visit during CNY period which makes it hectic to visit.
So this time was the perfect chance to drop by and check out the hype!
Originally I wanted to go by taxi as it was the most fuss free but my mum told me her colleague went by boat so i decided to give it a try!
From Pratunam, we walked to Siam BTS station then took the train to Sapan Taksin  ( 6 stations) believe it was 38 baht.
We walked towards the port and there was this long queue for the public boats. It was a flat fee for the boat ride ( you could take till the end if you liked)for 15baht.

Ticket to get onto the boat

Alight at the 5th stop! Ratchawong Pier
Do try to walk to the exit of the boat early at the 4th stop as they do not wait for you to take your time!! The boat ride was quite scenic and fun! From the pier to central Chinatown was around 15mins walk.
Along the main street of Yaowarat

We were thirsty and tired by this time and we decided to go for some Bird's Nest to cool off.
Plaeng Nam Shark Fin-Bird's Nest義福巷燕窩)

Menu! Read many good reviews about it so decided to give it a try!

So many kinds!

Ginseng tea. Supposed to drink after taking the bird's nest as bird nest is 'cooling'

I got a cold version of  3rd Grade Bird Nest in Coconut ( 250 baht)

Mum got a hot version of the same thing

It was really worth the money and the coconut flavour really complimented the bird's nest! I had to say though , the hot version was definitely better tasting than the cold one but the sun was especially  vicious that day. It was also served in the coconut shell that they heated up the bird nest in. The burnt flavour of the coconut was really rich and savoury. I like it that they make it on the spot when you order and its not ready made! ( even for the cold ones) I got to say that this bird nest is not watered down and it was full of bird's nest chunks! Super worth it!Recommended!!

After having the cooling desert, we were hungry for some dinner!
We headed down the street for some seafood!
T&K Seafood
It was getting dark outside and there were queues already at 6pm! The lines moved super fast and there were different queues for inner or outdoor seating. We chose to seat indoors. We got seated on the tatami floor and it was a fun experience haha:)

Fish in Lemon and Garlic Sauce ( 350 baht) was really good and delicious. best of all, worth the money!!!!

Oysters at 50 baht each

Tom yum seafood was kinda meh but the seafood was really fresh.
We ordered some vegetables  too but I didnt get a picture of that haha.
Overall the seafood is here is super good and affordable so do come and give it a try when you drop by Yaowarat!! We really wanted to try Pajin cockles but there were at least 20 people in the queue besides we were really full too haha:) Next time!
